A fried corn snack known as cornick. Its garlicky crunch is addictive, and as a beer snack (pulutan) or a quick bite it is the everyman's standard, stocked in every sari-sari store. The name means “Garlic Boy.” Cheap, unstoppable and unpretentious: everybody's snack.

One kernel, then another. Before you know it, the bag is empty.
