On the food of the Philippines,
we answer with expert knowledge.

Since our founding in 1993, Akabane Bussan has handled the import, wholesale, retail and manufacturing of Philippine foods, end to end. Product knowledge spanning some 700 items, insight from more than 30 years of connection with the Filipino community in Japan, and the hands-on experience of around 50 staff from many countries of origin: first-hand information, not desk research, that you can draw on for reporting, surveys and academic study.

Beyond interviews for newspapers, television, magazines and online media, we are glad to cooperate with surveys by government and research institutions and to provide comments for articles. Please feel free to get in touch.

As a specialist trading company handling some 700 items, from seasonings and spices to coconut products, snacks and frozen foods, we can explain the background of the ingredients and the context of the food culture.

Through 30 years of business with Filipino grocery stores and restaurants across Japan, we can convey the “now” of the community’s food life.
